Fall Affair

The Fall Affair is an Owen tradition from many years ago. In past years, the Owen community celebrated at Sunnybrook Estates and every year Owen students and teachers worked hard to make their art pieces ready to auction at the Fall Affair. Recently, in an effort to make the event more accessible, we switched the location to Owen’s library - tickets are $25 and include food and a drink.

It is a great opportunity to build up our community and to provide more opportunities and new experiences for the students! TDSB gives a very limited budget to the school, which needs to cover electricity, water, gas, paper, substitute teacher costs, laptops, and many other expenses from this limited amount. All the money raised from this event is spent on the students.

Last year, more than $12,000 was spent on field trip buses. Other expenses covered by the fundraising include library books, “Scientists in School” activities, the school’s winter celebration with various activities for the students, and classroom TVs—all funded by these efforts.
